Nicely done Hidayat. If you feel your not as steady free hand, just adapt. No shame in resting or putting on a stock.
Time and work pays it's toll on our bodies, so we need to alter the way we do things.

I wonder if the crosman carbine stocks will fit. Don't see why not, so could be an option.

General Airgun Discussion / Re: Alloy pellets? waste of time?

I have tried the H&N green Field target trophy pellets. Had some in .22 & .177

.22 were very good in the P rod and quite acceptable in the FX Bobcat.
.177 were really good in the air arms S510 and in an FX cyclone.

only tested out to 20m though. They will be effected easily by wind, but worth trying. They are a lot more expensive though.

One point someone raised was what effect the harder material had on the barrels. That I don't know. So not a waste of time, and for a professional marksman ;D, you can say you are environmentally aware.

It seemed such  good fortune that the 32 mm pipe fitted perfectly and seated on the O rings, that it wasn't right to spend all that good money. We use a desiccant at work, so that was free.

I think I will make a cube of delrin, and screw fix it onto the pipe, with a touch of JB Weld. Then I can thread a fitting into it.

I could drill the bg hole into a piece of delrin, leaving some bulk on one side to tap into. Trouble is drilling it accurately. (28 mm)

I'm after some advice. I have made a moisture filter for my hand pump by using some pvc conduit. The 32 mm pipe fits perfectly around the air intake, and seals off against the O rings. I used pipe glue/cement to connect the branching pipe. This project cost me only $12 as opposed to about $60 for the real deal.

The trouble is that I can smell the glue through the pumped air, and I'm thinking that I dont feel comfortable knowing that the fumes could dangerous when compressed, so I will figure out some other way to do this. Of course once they cure it might be ok, but too late i'm paranoid.

I was curious what others thought about if this was a potential disaster?

Of course 20 fps a drop in a bucket, but if it was say 80 or 90 fps it would point to something sinister, but you may not notice it, in fact you may even shout out to your wife from your basement range, "sweet cheeks, my gun is shooting sweet tonight" as the broken spring intertwines on itself.

I see them as a health monitor. Inconsistent speed in an airgun can point to a problem.

Hi Robo,

The 97 is a nice gun. What caliber? Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Good work Mike, that's really useful info. I wouldn't have bought one yet, but am keen to learn more about them. Some of the ones from overseas like Nomad 2, and Hatsan spark look good for being able to run them out in the field.

Anyway, good info. I'm half tempted to suggest work buys me one. But I wont hold my breath.

I rung Placemakers here out of interest, and they offered me a trade discount, with the final price of $949.50 inc gst.

This includes moisture and particulate filters. There's one on the floor at Kaiwharawhara Wellington, so might go have a look at it next week. I got the impression they are very keen to sell them.

For Sale, Wanted, Spotted / Bobcat .22 for sale
« on: January 24, 2019, 11:49:59 AM »
Up for sale is my FX bobcat .22. Mark 2 model which is regulated. Smooth twist barrel, shrouded. I also have a shroud extension silencer that makes a 30 foot Pound gun super quiet. But it's still very quiet without it. It has three power settings, 9 ft.pd, 16 and 30. Comes with 2 x 12 shot mags, and a custom built wooden case.
Very accurate, fantastic bunny gun,  but I've even shot sparrows indoors on low power so very versatile. My furthest kill was a rabbit at 110m. Only did that once, but it is like a laser
Selling reluctantly,  as I need the money.  Message me for more info. Asking $1500
