Well it's been a bit quiet down this way over the last wee while, but we haven't been totally inactive.

Today we has the first test shoot of our new FT venue in Levin.

It was a glorious day weather wise, with just enough tricky changing breeze to remind us what wind was, and why shooting in a warehouse all the time is bad for FT training! The wind, the light, the country air and the company all made for a fine return to FT shooting for the lower North Island.

6 brave "beta testers" turned out, along with a sightseeing visit from Mr & Mrs Myson to come check out the venue.

A short course with 13 targets shot 3 times comprised the day, but no-one found it easy. Plenty of tricky wind constantly switching sides had us all on our toes.

Andrew and Brandon battled hard for the first two rounds to be even, before Brandon dropped off, allowing Dave J to take 2nd place off him and finish only a point behind AJ.

AJ's new FWB800FT had it's first outing and looks like a great piece of kit so far.

Newcomer Mike had his first taste of FT and found out quickly the benefits of having a shooting cushion - so he stole mine!

Some scores and photos from the day:

Andrew J - 33/39
Dave J - 32/39
Brandon S - 30/39
Davey L - 28/39
Terry L - 27/39
Mike H - 8/39

Cheers,
Davey

Dave, formalities wise that's about as politically correct as we get.

As you will have observed yesterday, we enjoy everything & 'throw verbal encouragement nonesense' without fail.

Hope you are good chef on the BBQ while Tima has full range time to hone her shooting skills.

The HQ is filling up with equipment, (latest being a gazebo & toilet), a decent sized food cooker should be on the aquisition list.

As a plug to the 'Northerners', with the nearest motel just 2 clicks away we look forward to your  participation in future competitions with plans for $voucher prizes.

...We're going to need a bigger shed, aren't we?

A crappy caravan out of WOF, with a usable gas cooker would be ideal as a food prep/eating cave.

If it had a table it would be great for doing all the competition day admin stuff.

Has anyone seen something suitable for parking up on chocks?

Biggest draw back is the 1.75M low ceiling. Otherwise pretty damn good for our purposes.

Comes with inverter, gas cylinder, 12v supply, lighting, beer fridge, small cooker, porta loo, etc

At least we get a choice.
