Edge Gun Safes
« on: June 12, 2016, 10:43:37 AM »
Hi

Been researching Gun Safes and watching videos of them being broken into in under 50 seconds with a crowbar. (Which was pretty depressing).  But couldn't see a thread on here about gun safe Reccomendations.

The most sturdy ones I can see (without spending over a grand) seem to be these from North Shore Paintball shop.  http://www.paintballshop.co.nz/products/edge-security-5-gun-a-cat-safe-grey

I wondered if anyone has one and what are their thoughts please?

Thanks.

I've got a similar one, and yes they have a good clunk to them.
Only problem I've encountered is that it shrunk very quickly. ;)

Hi GriffyGriff. Iv been through the same some time ago seeing some good safes broken into so fast. I ended up with a Boston safe, 6mm steel E-cat. Said good buy to well over 1k but was saving for well over a year or so before then. Also having the room where the safe is monitored also helps. Its a cost for sure but more than likely for a life time. ( the safe I mean, not paying the thing off :) ). Also if your a handy man, some mods on a lest expensive safe could also do the job maybe?.

Most gun Safes I've seen seem only to be there to keep out the honest, most seem to be made out of 2mm panel steel, though you get what you pay for to a large degree, I think maybe hooking up an alarm that has huge decibels that's dedicated to your safe would be a good start, maybe a small spy camera set into the door to record a mug shot of the Scum bag trying to break in.

Hi I picked up a 4 gun safe and it really only fits 2 fully scoped rides, 3 at a push.
But that's OK. Thanks for the feedback
