Pics of spent pellets
« on: November 16, 2016, 06:33:56 PM »
I was shooting the zoraki today. I tried some pellets that I hadn't used in it before. I have normally used jSB, but today tried polymags and h&n ftt. No photos of groups, but a couple of shots of the pellets. I was shooting at a thick piece of tin and a piece of wood. The two with shinny smooth tops hit the tin, and the two spooning were in wood. The rifling is very distinct on the h&n as they were a very snug fit.
Both pellets group well.

A while ago  Davey had his .25 PCP over near battle hill. The target was an old steel pan at about 30 yards.
A direct hit with the pellet really flattened it out and the flattening created heat. The pellet was very hot to hold. May have been too hot to hold.
The rifle did not have very high velocity because there was a noticeable delay from trigger release to pellet impact but plenty of energy with the heavy pellet.
