A laugh at my own expense
« on: June 30, 2017, 08:35:48 PM »
Was checking my cyclone yesterday and  it didn't seem right, I thought the power was right down because it didnt sound right. So to cut a long story short I completely stripped it, put it back together and shot it over the crony and it was normal, but still sounded down on power??  I then realised that the new silencer I put on it the other day was the culprit. It was that much better than my cheap one that I thought something was wrong with the gun.

Moral of the story, don't come home from work buggered then try and think too much.
Anyone else had a dumb moment and had to laugh at yourself?

I was working on my Lancia once and was trying to set the timing chain. Decided to use a pencil down the spark plug hole so I could find out tdc, unfortunately the pencil wasn't long enough and dropped all the way in.... thought ah bugger, ill just hand cycle the engine and see if it comes back up..... chrunch!  Spent many many hours picking out bits of broken pencil with a torch and a grabby tool.
Lots of airguns
