AA S510 carbine Bullpup
« on: July 06, 2018, 12:51:23 AM »
What a great combination. An s 510 in a bullpup stock. Accuracy and compact handling.
This was this gun's first time out on the job, and it was so good to use. I checked my zero before I went and was able to pick these pigeons off one by one as they sat on cable trays and pipe work. My total for the night was 25, but a couple decided to go die elsewhere.
Thanks to wingman for setting this gun up for me in this configuration. Some may even recognize the stock.

Thanks, it's so compact without the silencer, but that Weihrauch silencer makes it super quiet.

All credit to Wingman though. The stock was the one he made in the 25 cal marauder build.

Very nice stock Pauly5.
I suppose I now have to look for the bloke in boots and carrying a violin case on Lambton Quay.
That won't fit in the brief case.

It's quite interesting to me, the journey that got me getting the S510. Well to me it is. A few years ago as my illness developed from first infected to full blown airgun-itis, like others im sure, we become facinated with a couple of major brands. Well FX was one of them, Edgun being another, but for some reason always felt Edgun would never be attainable. I already had my Springer main squeeze, my 97k in 177, and for some reason AA never featured on my radar. My first pcp was a lonestar single shot, then had a Super 10, which was a quality gun, kind of miss it, then got me a cyclone in 177. It bagged me a fair share of sparrows and pigeons, even used it for FT once. Then I got to shoot an HFT 500 in the ultimate sporter stock.  I was just casually shooting leaves off a tree that was about 45 m away, and proceeded to place pellets horizontally next to each other until I cut it in half, like this......... The cyclone, while good, never had the accuracy like that. I reckon the smooth twist just doesn't lend to the smaller calibre.
So after that and lots of reading got the S510, and everything else just kind of happened.

so you finally seen the light bout airarms rifles eh,i got couple older s410s in 22 had them for lot years
n love em,havnt regulated them coz they both shoot so consistantly cant see the point, but the 177 lonestar
got off you now set up perfectly at 22fpe with 10,34 exacts off the regulaterat 980fps dosnt change much
till falls of the reg, havnt been able to fill to its full 3400 psi as like you my bottles only go so far n cant be bothered using pump to top up fully,so dont really kno how many shots would now give off reg, really like wot you did to the 510 would be perfect for wot you do.
 cheers mike

Great to hear the lonestar is working well. Can't help but feel it's the barrel that gives that accuracy for the calibre. I remember I played around with the reg setting on the lonestar, and didn't really know what I was doing then. I liked the way you could load a pellet without the hammer being cocked.

never been a 177 man til now, cant believe the accuracy out way past where i thought would run out steam
i have 22 sportsman as well, like the way guns can be loaded n cocked wen needed or uncocked, this was
why purcashed the rifles in first place very safe on quad/in vehicals etc.
like most us older rural guys i never walk if can drive,so having really safe guns matters to me,dont want
blow windscreen outa my truck,as i have seen done couple times by some i know, bloody embarassing to
explain to her who pays the bills i wouldve thought,
bullpup be just bout perfect for you i would think.good project mate.
 cheers mike
