Are they a CO2 powered gun? Maybe it just needs a new seal?

had few these over the years usually given to me coz not working properly, they all seem be a bit a gamble
some work just fine, others never do,the ones i had all seemed be simialler to your one,run outa steam
real fast, pulled few apart, they just the usual modern crosman junk made plastic n not very well made, not
worth mucking around with, not proper semi auto, bassically a revolver with long barrel n buttstock,i see
crosman now making a pcp version too, that will be prob no better, pity coz cheap n wouldve made fun
plinkers if the bloody things worked properly to begin with.prob can be sorted but i never tryed .
 cheers mike

Once upon a time Mintie nudged me towards a CO2 rifle. I was a bit keen and looked around. The Gamo and Umarex are just too expensive for what you get.
The Crosman 1077 at Rons was $198. That's reasonable until I looked at the close up pictures on you tube. Just cheap rough junk. As Dvinme said it is a revolver with all the leak potential. And the rat guns are not for me.
QB 78s are hard to find except for one on trade me for a lot of money. Someone wanted to be paid for their modifications and it was too expensive.
Ended up being very happy with sticking to springers.

The 1077 is definitely on the plinker end of the scale, Out of the box most of them don't group well at all (Ive had 4 across my bench and none of them grouped well out of the box) and they tend to suffer from CO2 cool down really bad, I have measured a drop of over 130fps within one mag of fast shooting which just defeats the purpose of having a "semi auto" in the first place.

With a bit of tinkering they can actually become quite accurate and you can get much better shot to shot consistency from them but the platform just isn't designed to get much in the way of power.

Check out my thread here on the work that can be done to improve them and the sort of results you can expect after doing the mods. http://nzairgun.com/forum/index.php?topic=2268.0

Nova - CO2 is still worth an explore, just make sure you get a good base to start with, I will post up some results I recently got from a 2250 tune.

Thanks for the feedback lads , am I asking too much forot. I don't really have a good history of putting guns back together after taking them apart , that why I thought I'd sell before tearing it apart and looking interest. Would get more for a gun that sorta works rather than a gun in bits that doesn't work....

Yeh it probably is a bit steep, think they were being sold around that or slightly less new by some shops.
