Pigeon slaughter
« on: October 04, 2018, 06:20:00 PM »
Today I went into a roof void to kill a few pigeons!!!

It was disgusting, crap everywhere, stunk and pigeons everywhere, but no further than 25 m away. At first I took the P Rod up. I have three 8 shot mags, so I get comfortable and started shooting. 1 mag, 2 mags, 3 mags, had to reload, 3 more mags gone, reload again, shot one more mag then had to fill the gun, so while at the Ute I though might as well take the S510 in.

So started again with the s510 for a change.(10 shot mag) 1 mag, 2 mags, 3 mags, 4 mags, then swapped back to the P Rod and shot 4 more mags through that. The S510 was only half full. So at this stage, the place is lettered with bodies, but there's still pigeons trying to fly in. We decide to call it quits, and will come back tomorrow to pick up the bodies.

11 x 8 = 88
4 x 10 = 40
Plus stomped on a few.

Now I did miss a few, but a shot well over 100. I will be going back again. We blocked the entrance and the ones that couldn't get back in ended up sitting on the back tier of seats.  This is an old grand stand and I plan to go back at night and hopefully slaughter the ones that will sit here with the night vision.

I felt like Rambo walking out of a kill zone, with twitching bodies, even stopping to pop a cap into a struggling survivor.
Only one photo, but you get the idea.

Is that piled up pigeon poo? Bag it and sell it as premium fertiliser to gardeners. Better do it before the ceiling caves in.

Yea, a full covering of premium poo. Next time you're lazing back, watching some cricket at the basin, just look up and know what's above you.

Wow that's a lot of birds!

I wonder if it was left alone now how long before they establish to those numbers again?

Well I think gestation is about 6 to 8 weeks, with an average of 2 eggs. I would have destroyed at least 40 eggs, and about half of them were yellow, so 50% success rate. Might not have taken too long.
