MSSA and things that look like them - Confused???
« on: December 07, 2013, 06:35:59 PM »
I have read a little on the subject.

So I assume free standing pistol grip air rifles are now E? cat? also any airsoft that "looks like" something that is full auto. Also any air gun / airsoft that looks like a pistol (Like an air pistol?) also requires a permit to import and a good reason to do so... but you still dont need a FAL to own a pcp pistol?

It seems if you have a pistol grip ... rifle etc not only do you need to convert it  back to a reg stock but it is also illegal to possess said pistol grip stock ( Incase you snap and reconfigure your air rifle / powder burner back into a WMD??)

Not trying to sound like a cock but how is this helping the general safety of the population of NZ? So strange to me
Cometa .22
Crosman 1389 in "bits" - so many bits
Cometa 300 - "straightened barrel" - "Deck stain" stock

i see your problem.

you expected the government to help the safety of the population and enshrine THE PEOPLE's wishes as law.

sorry, that's not how it works...

OK, I've read through this "new" law a few times and still am unsure about one of my guns.
Under this new regime where does the Logun S16s now sit with regards to which bit of a FAL (if any) does it fall under?

Cheers

The Revised law is very simple and perfectly clear.
It effects only Semi Auto PCP Rifles with free standing such as the FX Revolution.

So if is a PCP, Semi auto and has a free-standing pistol grip.. you will need to get it registered as an E cat firearm and get the appropriate storage and licence endorsement, sell it to someone who has an E endorsement, hand it in to police for destruction or modify the pistol grip to a thumb hole stock.

The other area where airgunners are affected is that you will now require a permit to import if the airgun has the appearance of looking like a firearm..

Yet again, those who draft our laws and pass them are too-often asses, ignorant of the subjects they ponificate about.   >:( >:( >:(

Don't get me onto speed limit-tolerances..... ::)

Don't get me onto speed limit-tolerances..... ::)

be grateful the gang in blue give you any tolerance GA, 100 is the LIMIT, and driving faster than that makes you A CRIMINAL.

nevermind the fact that the LEGAL tolerance for a speedo is +/-10%

and nevermind the fact that i was stuck behind 5 idiots and a caravan who couldn't manage 70 around the corners, but were quite happy to hit 110 on the straights (A55HOLES!!) - these drivers are more dangerous than me going fast.

Oh man that is the one think that ticks me off when driving! That's why I got a Triumph Street Triple lol. Now I only get stuck behind the booze bus on the way back from Whangamata.

The new law is bonkers, cost me $1000 for an Ecat safe just because I have a fancy .22 just incase I want to keep the pistol grip on it and get an E endorsement. Ahh well.
